ok, I’m sorry but this is just bugging the CRAP out of me.
This is a beautiful piece of work. Its creative and unique and well rendered. HOWEVER. The anatomy of this girl is WRONG and leaves a very bitter taste in my mouth. Now this wouldn’t be such a problem to the artwork if it wasn’t the focus of the piece.
Here is a correct example of a skeletal structure as it appears in a female body.
Our bodies are built tremendously well. We are built for functionality and protection. Most of our bones act like an internal suit of body armor for our organs. Note the shape and position of the rib cage. It is used to support and protect most of the internal organs. It would only make sense that the end of the rib cage is close to the opening of the pelvis.
In fact at in an anatomical position (standing straight up with palms up) you can only fit about four fingers between the rib cage and the pelvis. Also in this piece, note that the ribs DO NOT hook around to the back side of the rib cage. They just disappear.
The Pelvis in this work is also not shaped right. If there were in fact a set of intestines in this body they would hang out near her ass. The pelvis has a curved shape at the top. The only holes in the pelvis are on the bottom near the back as a support system for when your sitting down.
As a final note: If your going to do a piece where bones are the focus, subject matter, or somehow a main part of the art work, DO YOUR RESEARCH. Know what you’re going to draw before you do it. Get several reference pictures so you know what your subject matter will look like for several different angles and perspective. That is all.
